Your flower wall

Flower wall guide

How to build your flower wall (about 15 minutes with two people), look after it on the day, and take it down. If we’re setting it up for you, skip to “Looking after it” below.

The quick version

  1. Bases down, poles in, both poles the same height.
  2. Lay the 4 panels side by side and zip the tops together.
  3. Slide the crossbar through the sleeve at the top and lift it onto the poles, one person each end.
  4. Zip all the way down and tie the side straps to the poles.
  5. Fluff the flowers, step back and check it’s straight. Strike a pose!

Check it’s all there

What’s in the bags

When your wall arrives, check everything’s there. If anything is missing or damaged, tell us straight away, before your event.

Step by step

Setting up

Build it before your guests arrive. You’ll need two people, and a sturdy step stool if anyone’s on the short side.
  1. 1

    Pick your spot

Find a flat, level floor about 3 metres wide and 1 metre deep, under a ceiling at least 2.6 metres high. Keep it clear of doors, fire exits, heaters, candles and anywhere people carry drinks past.

💡 In front of a wall is best: it’s steadier and makes a better photo.

  2. 2

    Set out the base plates

Put the two base plates down about 2.4 metres apart (the width of the wall), flat side down and the socket facing up.

  3. 3

    Put up the poles

Slot a pole into each base, stretch both to about 2.45 metres (just taller than the wall) and tighten the knobs firmly. Make sure both poles are exactly the same height.

💡 Measure both poles, or line up the same mark on each, so the wall hangs straight.

  4. 4

    Zip the panels together

Lay the 4 panels side by side on a clean, dry floor, flowers facing up, in their order. Zip them together from the top, about 60 to 90cm down only for now.

  5. 5

    Slide on and lift

Push the crossbar sections together and slide the crossbar through the sleeve along the top of the wall. Then, one person at each end, lift the wall and drop the crossbar ends into the tops of the poles.

💡 Never stand on chairs or tables to reach. Use a proper step stool, and lift together.

  6. 6

    Zip down and tie on

Finish zipping every panel all the way to the bottom, then tie the side straps to the poles, snug but not tight. Give the frame a gentle shake: it should feel steady, not springy. If it wobbles, re-tighten the knobs.

  7. 7

    Fluff and check

Open out any flowers that got squashed on the journey, gently with your fingers, working from the middle outwards. Then step back 3 metres and look for gaps or flat spots.

Before you start: the space you need

Check your venue has room for the wall before the day:

  • About 3m wide
  • Ceiling 2.6m or higher
  • Indoors or under cover

Looking after it

On the day

  • ✅ Keep it indoors or under cover, away from rain, wind and strong sun.
  • ✅ Leave it where it is once it’s built. Gentle touching for photos is fine.
  • ❌ Don’t lean on it, climb it or hang anything from it, and don’t let children pull the flowers.
  • ❌ No pins, tape, sticky hooks, glitter, confetti, spray or party poppers on or near it. Want a neon sign or balloons with it? Ask us first.
  • ❌ No candles, sparklers, heaters or anything hot nearby: the flowers are fabric.
  • ❌ Keep food and drink away, and watch out for make-up and fake tan, which mark the flowers.

How we care for them

Between hires

  • We check every wall when it comes back and reshape any squashed flowers.
  • Loose flowers are put back with the spare flowers that came with the wall.
  • We dust them with a soft brush or cool air. They’re never soaked or washed.
  • They’re stored rolled loosely, somewhere dry and out of the sun, so they’re fresh and full for your event.

Something not right?

Quick fixes

The wall wobbles

Re-tighten the knobs on both poles, check the base plates are flat on the floor, and make sure the crossbar ends sit right down in the tops of the poles. Standing it in front of a wall helps too.

It hangs crooked or there’s a gap at the bottom

The poles aren’t the same height. With two people, lift the wall off, set both poles to the same height and put it back up.

There’s a gap between two panels

The zip isn’t fully closed or a panel is in the wrong place. Unzip a little and zip it up again slowly, keeping the edges lined up.

The flowers look flat or squashed

That’s normal after travelling. Fluff them gently with your fingers from the middle outwards. Please don’t use a steamer or hairdryer: we take care of that.

A flower has come off

Don’t glue or pin it back. Pop it in the bag and tell us when we collect: normal wear and tear isn’t charged.

Can we use it outside?

Only under cover, on flat ground and when it isn’t windy. If rain or wind is on the way, move it inside.

When the party’s over

Packing away

If we set it up for you, just leave it standing and we’ll take it down when we collect.

  1. With two people, untie the side straps and unzip the panels from the bottom, up to about 60 to 90cm from the top.
  2. Lift the crossbar out of the poles together and lay the wall down on a clean floor, flowers facing up.
  3. Slide out the crossbar, then finish unzipping the panels.
  4. Roll each panel up loosely, the same way it came. Don’t fold, squash or tie it tightly.
  5. Loosen the knobs, take down the poles and pull the crossbar sections apart.
  6. Pack everything back in its bags and count it: 4 panels, 2 poles, 2 base plates and the crossbar.
  7. Have it all ready for collection at the agreed time, or bring it back to us.

Thank you, and enjoy the photos! 📸
