What’s in the box
Headphones
The number in your kit. They light up blue, red or green to show which channel they’re on.
Transmitter
The black box with an aerial, in its padded case. Your music plugs into it and it sends it to every headphone.
Transmitter power plug
Plugs into the wall and the back of the transmitter.
Audio lead
A headphone plug at one end (for your phone or laptop) and a red and a white plug at the other (for the transmitter).
Charging dock and lead
Only needed if you have the kit for more than one night. The headphones arrive fully charged.
Step by step
Setting up
- 1
Put the transmitter up high
Stand the aerial up straight and put the transmitter somewhere above head height, like a shelf or the top of a cupboard, near a plug socket. Keep it away from metal and drinks, and where it can “see” the dance floor.
💡 The higher it is, with nothing and nobody in the way, the clearer the sound.
- 2
Plug in the power
Plug the power lead into the socket marked DC 12V on the back of the transmitter, then into the wall and switch it on at the wall.
- 3
Plug in your music
Push the red plug into the socket marked R and the white plug into L (under AUDIO INPUT on the back). Push the other end into your phone or laptop’s headphone socket. Using DJ decks? Connect their red and white “line out” or “booth out” sockets instead.
💡 Newer iPhones and many Android phones have no headphone socket, so you’ll need your phone’s headphone adapter (USB-C or Lightning).
- 4
Switch on: LOW or HIGH
Slide the switch on the back of the transmitter to LOW for indoors (up to 200 metres) or HIGH for outdoors and big gardens (400 metres or more). The small power light comes on.
💡 Use LOW if people will be dancing right next to the transmitter.
- 5
Choose the channel
Press the CHANNEL button on the front. The display shows 1, 2 or 3. Remember the number: it tells you which colour the headphones need to be.
- 6
Start the music
Press play and turn your phone or laptop up to about three-quarters volume. Everyone sets their own volume on their headphones.
💡 Switch on Do Not Disturb, so calls and message pings don’t play to the whole party. Keep your phone on charge too.
- 7
Hand out the headphones
On each headphone, slide the power switch to ON, then slide the channel switch until the light matches your channel (see the colours below). Start with the volume wheel low and turn it up.
Channel colours
The headphones light up to show their channel. Match them to the number on the transmitter:
- Channel 1 = Blue
- Channel 2 = Red
- Channel 3 = Green
Arranged more than one transmitter with us? Set each one to a different channel and plug a different playlist into each. Guests slide between colours to switch music, and you’ll see who’s dancing to what!
Charging
Keeping them charged
- The headphones arrive fully charged and last 8 to 10 hours. For a one-night party you won’t need to charge them.
- Got the kit for more than one night? Each night, switch the headphones OFF and plug them into the charging dock.
- The light shows red while charging and turns green when full. A full charge takes about 3 hours.
- Charge them indoors, somewhere dry, away from heat. Never charge headphones that have got wet: tell us instead.
Looking after the kit
Do’s and don’ts
- ✅ Use it indoors or under cover, away from rain, drinks, food and confetti.
- ✅ Keep the volume at a comfortable level. Loud music for a long time can damage hearing.
- ✅ If the kit has been in a cold car, let it warm up indoors for about 30 minutes before switching on.
- ❌ Don’t stretch, sit on or throw the headphones, or leave them on the floor to be trodden on.
- ❌ Don’t put stickers, glitter or anything else on them, and don’t try to open or fix anything.
- ❌ Don’t move the transmitter while it’s on, or pull leads out by the cable.
Something not right?
Quick fixes
Nobody can hear anything
Check the power light on the transmitter is on, the music is playing with the volume up on your phone or laptop, and the red and white plugs and the headphone plug are pushed all the way in. Then check the headphones are the colour that matches the number on the transmitter. Headphones go quiet on their own when they can’t hear the transmitter, which is normal.
One pair of headphones isn’t working
Check the power switch is ON, the light is the right colour and the volume wheel is turned up. If the light won’t come on, the battery is flat: swap it for a spare pair and pop it on charge (the charging light shows red while it charges).
The sound is crackly or cuts out
Move the transmitter higher up with nothing in the way, or move closer to it. Keep it away from Wi-Fi routers and other wireless kit. Outdoors or in a big space, switch the transmitter to HIGH.
The music sounds distorted or too loud
Turn the volume down a little on your phone, laptop or decks. Too much signal going into the transmitter makes the sound fuzzy.
Can I connect by Bluetooth?
No, this kit uses the audio lead, which gives steadier sound with no drop-outs. Any phone, tablet, laptop or DJ decks will work with the lead (and an adapter if your phone has no headphone socket).
How long do the batteries last?
8 to 10 hours on a full charge, so they’ll last the whole party. They arrive fully charged.

When the party’s over
Packing away
- Slide every headphone’s power switch to OFF (the light goes out). Left on, the batteries go flat and can be damaged.
- Fold the headphones and put them back in their case.
- Count them: the number should match your kit.
- Switch off the transmitter, unplug everything and pack the transmitter, power plug and audio lead into the padded case.
- Have it all ready for collection at the agreed time, or bring it back to us.
- Kit sent by courier? Pack it all as it arrived and post it back, tracked and insured, by the next working day after your hire ends (as in your hire agreement).
Thank you, and have the best night! 🎧
