Why We Moved to Legends: Qwerky’s New Home on Brighton Seafront
If you've been to a Qwerky brunch before, you might remember us from Bar Broadway on Steine Street. This year we moved our drag brunch to a new home: Legends Brighton, right on the seafront at Marine Parade. Here's why we did it, and why we think it's the best space we've ever had.
Why we moved
After five years and more than 900 brunches, we wanted a home that matched the show. That meant a seafront spot, room for big groups, two sittings every Saturday, a kitchen we trust and a venue at the heart of Brighton's LGBTQ+ scene. Legends ticked every box, so we moved to give our guests a bigger, better home.
Why Legends is the perfect space for Qwerky
Right on the seafront. Legends is at 31-34 Marine Parade in Kemptown, a short walk east along the front from the Palace Pier. You get the sea on the way in and the beach for group photos on the way out.
At the heart of LGBTQ+ Brighton. Kemptown is the centre of Brighton's gay scene, and Legends is one of its best-known LGBTQ+ venues. For a queer-led company like ours, it feels like coming home.
Two sittings every Saturday. We run at 2pm and 5pm, so there's more chance of getting the date you want, even in busy hen and Christmas season.
Made for groups. Hen parties, birthdays and work dos are seated together, with the guest of honour in the spotlight. Got 31 or more? Our big parties page gives you a price straight away.
A kitchen we trust. Our food is cooked by the chef at Legends, whose kitchen is checked by the Food Standards Agency. You can see its current food hygiene rating and every allergen on our menu page.
A longer show. Our brunch is now a 2.5 hour show, with 90 minutes of bottomless drinks.
Make a weekend of it. Legends is a hotel too, so if you fancy staying over, you can sleep in the same building as the party. Rooms are booked directly with Legends.

What hasn't changed
It's the same Qwerky team and the same party you know: live drag queens hosting, singing and running the games, brunch on the table, bottomless drinks and a room full of people celebrating.
Good to know
- How to get in: come in through the red side door on Camelford Street (not the main entrance on Marine Parade). It takes you straight to the room where the brunch is.
- Access: Legends Brighton is not an accessible venue. If you or someone in your group has access needs, please email bookings@qwerkyevents.com before booking and we'll talk you through it honestly.
- Booking at Bar Broadway? The drag brunch now held at Bar Broadway is run by a different company and isn't connected to Qwerky. Qwerky tickets are only sold on our website and through our official ticket partners, such as Eventbrite, FIXR and Skiddle.
